The Task Force on Health Expectancies (TF-HE) was established in 2005 by DG Health and Consumer Protection to ensure that the Healthy Life Years (HLY) will move forward towards meeting the Grade A criteria for Structural Indicators and to prepare for the next cycle of summary measures of population health (SMPH). A 3-year Strategic Plan was finalized in December 2007.

The TF-HE also receives the Member States experience with health expectancies and the acceptability of the new indicator.
